New workplace concepts such as home offices or coworking spaces are called ” New Work” or Working World 4.0. They claim a rethinking of outdated working models and require new office furniture and workplace equipment. Holger Danneberg, inventor of the WERKHAUS connecting system, and Prof. Andreas Mühlenberend from the Bauhaus University Weimar dedicated themselves to these new demands and developed the Hoch X furniture series together – a mobile standing desk combination with a movable office shelf in two sizes.

In der The WERKHAUS Hoch X series combines the wish to move flexibly at the workplace with the need for a long-lasting office interior made of solid and sustainable wood. When working, we do not just want to always sit in the same place but move around or have a short meeting or telephone call while we are standing. By moving the furniture, which is equipped with castors, around the room, new views are created – at lunchtime you might prefer to be near the window, for a meeting in the afternoon you might prefer to move to a quiet corner.  The minimalistic WERKHAUS connecting system is here used in combination with straps that not only stabilise the table and stool, but also give the furniture an innovative look.  Together with the table and the stool, the newly interpreted mobile pedestal as a shelf unit forms a well-arranged “working island” with storage compartments.
